Strocal, Inc. is
among the leading fabricators and erectors of structural steel buildings in the
Western United States, the country’s most active commercial construction
market.
Strocal’s fabrication facilities are located in Stockton, California and Eloy,
Arizona. Each facility has the capacity of producing upwards of 40,000 tons per
year. Both are strategically located for service mainly in Washington, Oregon,
California, Nevada and the Southwestern United States, but have completed
successful projects as far east as Houston, Texas.
Acquisition enhances capabilities
As an enhancement to its business unit, Strocal acquired ownership of Candraft
Detailing Inc., an established structural steel detailing service located in
Vancouver, B.C. “Candraft is a valuable critical path resource, enabling us to
close the structural design early and honor schedule commitments. They possess
an impressive resume of completed work spanning 20+ years throughout the Western
hemisphere and encompassing every type of work ever conceived in steel,” said
Strocal President and CEO David Long.
Candraft’s new three-dimensional computer-aided modeling, detailing and
materials listing system and electronic document exchange application
significantly improved Strocal’s capabilities for both bid preparation and
project work, increasing internal productivity and adding value for customers.
Similarly, Strocal’s electronic information and document transfer application
also helped streamline the exchange of drawings and other documentation with
customers. In addition to improving service, these capabilities support the
fast-track schedules accompanying many projects.
“Reduction in
the economic growth in the West continues to drive demand for quality and
service with the ability to provide value engineering and economical and
innovative construction while completing projects as rapidly and safely as
possible. Strocal is widely recognized for its ability to fabricate complex
structures to the most exacting tolerances and for delivering on its commitments
within tight schedules to benefit project owners financially.
Strocal prides itself on repeat customers. “We have worked aggressively to
